The International Bar Association has asked us to share the letter below with our Members.  An e mail has been sent to members and the link to the survey is above

Dear Ron,

I am writing on behalf of the International Bar Association to request the support of the Glasgow Bar Association in distributing our global survey on bullying and sexual harassment in the legal profession. The survey is aimed at the entirety of the profession, including advocates.

Our past research indicated that one in two female lawyers had been bullied and one in three sexually harassed in the workplace. One in three male lawyers had also been bullied.

This new survey is our first step in developing a response to these alarming statistics. The survey is anonymous, available in six languages (English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish) and takes just 5-10 minutes to complete. We want as many members of the profession as possible to undertake the survey, whether or not they have personally suffered from such conduct. Every response is valuable.

Could you please consider distributing the survey to your members and encouraging them to complete it? I am attaching additional information and some promotional graphics. Please feel free to promote the survey on your website and social media, as you see fit. Please use this link to share the survey – https://www.ibanet.org/harassment-survey.aspx – as once you click it redirects to a unique URL.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist your promotional efforts. Thanks kindly to the Glasgow Bar Association for its assistance with this important initiative.

Kind regards,
Kieran
