Glasgow Bar Association runs a series of
CPD seminars each year covering criminal, civil and management matters.
The bulk of our programme takes place in the second half of the year from late
August until early November. Most of our seminars take place within one of the
Jury Courts at Glasgow Sheriff Court and generally commence at 6pm and , unless
otherwise stated, generally last for about an hour. We also hold two full-day
seminars, counting for six hours each , during the course of the year. As far
as possible we try and tie these two seminars in with Sheriffs' Training Days
when the courts tend to be slightly quieter. We also organise ad hoc seminars
throughout the year on subjects of current interest, and meetings of the
Membership also take place to discuss matters of importance as they arise.
All CPD seminars are open free of charge to those Members holding full CPD
membership. Basic membership holders and non-members may also attend individual
seminars for a "per seminar" fee, and anyone interested should telephone Aileen
(0141 420 6142) for further details.
We are always on the lookout for suggestions for future
seminars and if anyone has an idea for a speaker and / or topic, we would be
delighted to hear from you, and you should, in the first instance, contact
Aileen at the above number.
