....... is directing Policy?
In a letter to the Glasgow Bar Association (GBA) from the Scottish Legal Aid Board (Slab) dated 2nd of May, Mr. Colin Lancaster, Director of Policy and Development at Slab advised that the Scottish Government had asked the Board to develop proposals for contracting with criminal legal aid suppliers. However, Scottish Government don’t seem to agree? Mr. MacAskill in an interview on the 20th of May with the Journal on line, discussing legal aid contracting, did not hold the same view, in fact he did not have a view at all… “It’s not been asked by me: they themselves suggested that they look at this. I have no view on this. I will take the best advice of the Board..”
